As a proud member of Standards Australia, AIRAH has representatives on almost
20 different committees responsible for key standards in the HVAC&R industry.
Australian Standards are technical documents that set out specifications for goods
and services. They establish a minimum set of requirements for quality and safety.
The concept of standards started thousands of years ago with weights and measures.
Now, according to Standards Australia, globally there are well over half a million
published standards from over 1,000 recognised standards development organisations.
Australian standards underpin our industry and are developed and updated by technical
committees made up of individuals representing various interest groups such as suppliers,
regulatory authorities, government departments, associations, academia and consumers.
If these people are not available and engaged, it will be impossible to create a standard.
These people volunteer significant time and expertise to this process. AIRAH’s
representatives are listed below – we thank them for their ongoing efforts.
