I am a mechanical engineer and have worked as an ESD consultant for almost 20 years. I ran my own consulting business for 13 years and am now a Director at a medium multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm. I've been an AIRAH member for over 10 years and have been heavily involved in state committee, STGs and the national board.
Offers
I'm keen to help people develop their soft skills, particularly presentation and professional interpersonal skills. I can help with career progression, understanding what employers are looking for and finding the right 'fit' and role. I can share my experiences of balancing a young family and work.

With 15 years’ experience in the HVAC industry I've worked across multiple disciplines including Mechanical Design, BMS Engineering, BMS Service, Building optimisation and Data Analytics. As the owner of a small business, I have had to develop my skill sets to gain a well-rounded understanding of finance, governance, marketing, and sales also.
With 15 years of knowledge, industry contacts and leading the technology push into the future of HVAC&R I hope I could be someone any mentee can call to ask specific industry questions or bounce ideas off and navigate the HVAC&R industry.

I am a Services Engineer with a major consulting business for 16 years holding roles from Drafter, Engineer, Business Group Manager all the way to 2IC for the local ACT Business. After leaving consulting I took up a role as the Senior Engineer at a Tier 1 HVAC contracting company where I've been now for 3 years. I've worked in differing roles across all types of projects from refurb, brown and greenfield projects all the way to major infrastructure projects both within Australia arnd internationally.
I can pass on my experience, I can pass on advice or I can just be a sounding board for a mentee that needs someone to listen.

Have been working as an energy efficiency consultant since graduating in 2007. Following several years leading a Melbourne office for a large consultancy I moved to Darwin in 2018 and started consulting independently. Experienced in energy auditing, controls tuning, NABERS, building retrofits and peer review of new designs, all focused on energy performance in commercial + industrial facilities.
I have 15 years experience focused on energy efficiency in commercial buildings. I enjoy uncovering energy saving opportunities in new and existing buildings and Ienjoy sharing my technical knowledge with others. I'm also keen to offer any insight I can on opportunities for career path and skills development.
Owner and designer of the oldest cooling tower manufacturer in Australia. We produce highly efficient induced draft cooling towers that are wholly designed and manufactured in Melbourne since 1958. We are a supplier to many of Australia's leading manufacturers with specific applications to their requirements.

I'm a mechanical engineer, and started my company in 1987, specialising in process cooling for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. I built the company into an international specialist in this field, delivering projects worldwide for temperatures down to -100 deg.C. I continue to serve on Australian and international committees for standards in related areas. I was awarded the 2019 AIRAH Excellence award in Diversity and Inclusion.

I am the Mechanical Services Team Leader at a global multinational technical professional services firm and a Chartered Professional Engineer. I have 16 years’ experience, having worked in the African region, throughout Australia and Singapore. I have managed multi-disciplinary projects within all these regions working in a project management role and providing broad engineering oversight of the building services disciplines.

During my 50-year engineering career I have designed, installed and maintained new and replacement buildings and their services. I have been an AIRAH member since 1982 and MIE Australia since 1980. I have held roles from Cadet- Senior Mech Engineer, Building Services Engineer and Engineering Manager, Engineering, Project and Development Manager roles, and Consultant.
I have a broad experience in the designed, installed and maintained new and replacement buildings and their services. I have worked on a larger range of water supply, sewerage, air-conditioning, commercial refrigeration, vertical transportation, materials handling, catering and building construction. As a registered duct fixer, I also have hands-on experience in the installation and maintenance.
Over 25 years’ experience gained in Asia, Middle East and Australia on the design, project management, commissioning and construction phase support of building services in the field of HVAC including BMS, Hydraulics and Fire Services Systems for residential, educational, commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial and military facilities. I commenced employment in the HVAC&R industry in 1969 as a trainee detail draftsman with a WA contracting company, before moving to the Consulting side of the industry in 1973 as a Design Draftsman. In the mid 80's, I worked in Bougainville, PNG, where I learnt how to design air conditioning in a humid, tropical environments. Returning to Perth, I worked for another consulting company for 9 years before starting my own practice in 1995, RVAC Design, semi-retiring in 2019. I am still active.
All my knowledge of HVAC design and construction over my 53 year career has been learned from practical experience, working with building owners, architects, project developers and other design consultants on a very wide range of projects. In the HVAC&R industry, extensive experience is far more valuable than any tertiary qualification and it is that experience that I have to offer to any mentee.

I have been involved in the HVAC&R industry since becoming an apprentice in 1988, gaining various experience as a technician, commissioning, equipment manufacturer, engineering, design and service. Having experience in HVAC, industrial refrigeration, supermarket refrigeration with both synthetic and natural refrigerants.
Experience in both engineering, project management as well as service and now asset lifecycle management of various systems.
Air conditioning technology development from early TRL levels, use of renewable energy in buildings, Air conditioning systems, low energy cooling systems (non compressor). Currently working in the area of data and digital technologies and how it could help with smart control of HVAC, buildings.
