NSW Site Visit: Barangaroo Mechanical Plantrooms

This site visit will provide an overview of the Harbour Heat Rejection System, which supplies chilled water cooling to the entire precinct. Attendees will tour the District Cooling Plant (DCP), seawater pump rooms, and learn how the seawater cooling system operates, including the role of heat exchangers. The visit will also explore the scale of the precinct and how the centralised system reduces the need for rooftop plant and potable water typically required for cooling towers. In addition, the tour will highlight key sustainability initiatives, including waste management practices and the recycled water treatment plant.
