Professional Certificate in HVAC&R Fundamentals
This modular online course is an opportunity to fast-track your HVAC&R
technical knowledge and skills. It can also build on your existing industry
experience to provide in-depth technical insight.

30–48 hours (full qualification) / 5–8 hours (per unit)
To note
Participants are required to demonstrate their competency and
understanding through knowledge assessment tasks (including
self-assessment questions, quizzes, and calculations).
There is a maximum of six weeks to complete each module.
Overview
AIRAH's accredited Professional Certificate in HVAC&R Fundamentals
offers online training for the HVAC&R building services industry, with a
focus on air and water systems fundamentals. Students will examine equipment
components and theories that will help to make them more effective
HVAC&R practitioners.
The online course consists of eight units, with participants selecting those
relevant to their own interests and needs. These units detail information
about the workings of HVAC&R equipment.
Students may choose from any or all of the topics. This provides a
customisable experience, with the opportunity to:
- Take individual units to upgrade specific skills

Take units 1–4 and complete the Air Systems Fundamentals Certificate

Take units 5–8 and complete the Water Systems Fundamentals Certificate

Take all eight units and complete the Professional Certificate in
HVAC&R Fundamentals
Students must obtain a pass to successfully complete each unit. One resit
option is available per unit.
Upon successful completion of a unit or units within this course, students
will receive a letter of completion outlining CPD hours and unit(s)
completed.
Individual units involve approximately 5–8 hours to complete, with the full
Certificate course taking approximately 30–48 total hours.
There is a maximum of six weeks to complete each unit.
Candidates who successfully complete all eight units will receive the
Professional Certificate in HVAC&R Fundamentals.
