A message from AIRAH’s CEO; Refrigeration 2020 suspended
I write to you today in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic. The coronavirus is impacting daily lives, business, and – for now – our foreseeable plans.
AIRAH is suspending the Refrigeration 2020 Conference, scheduled for March 23–24 in Melbourne.
We are also suspending all of our current events, scheduled from now until May 31. This is being done out of concern for the health and safety of our event attendees and the public at large, and due to the rapidly changing situation around COVID-19.
In this time of great upheaval for everyone, we ask for your patience as we work with attendees, speakers, sponsors and other stakeholders to reorganise.
We will announce a new date for Refrigeration 2020 as soon as possible. Conference registrations will be valid for this rescheduled date, so please watch for news in the coming weeks.
At this time, we are also diligently working to increase the availability of our digital resources. This is being done to help further the aims of the HVAC&R industry and encourage your professional development in ways appropriate for this period, including online learning and an increased program of technical webinars.
As disappointed as we are to not be able to host Refrigeration 2020 next week in Melbourne, AIRAH recognises our organisation’s responsibility to help lower the chance of COVID-19’s spread. In place of this, over the coming fortnight we will be sharing links to online presentations from some of our scheduled conference speakers. Please continue to check back for this.
We also encourage you to explore our other refrigeration-related resources, including the Flammable Refrigerants Safety Guide
; an episode of our AIRAH on Air podcast in which we discuss natural refrigerants
; and the free online learning program on the safe use of high-GWP alternatives, Real Alternatives 4 Life
AIRAH also continues the development of our new technical resource, DA12 Energy Efficiency in Cold Rooms
. It is scheduled for hard copy release on April 30, and digital release (free for AIRAH members) on May 4. For more information, please continue to check back on our DA manuals site
