About this course
This one-day course is offered as a face-to-face, online, or in-house session.
Adding buildings to our current stock with poor energy efficiency means that GHG emissions will continue to increase, and the impact will be felt for a long time. To ensure that new buildings perform better, energy-efficiency requirements are gradually being raised through the National Construction Code (NCC).
This course focuses on the energy-efficiency provisions in Section J of Volume One of the NCC. It also covers provisions in other sections of the NCC that are important in the application of Section J.
The course will present the recent changes to Section J and the intent of the energy-efficiency requirements. It looks specifically at Part J5, the verification methods, condensation management, and the methods of meeting the compliance requirements.
Attendees will learn about code compliance pathways and the associated details. This will help them understand what to consider in their assessments of building design.
