Introduction of ISO16890 filter standard in Australia – what do IEQ professionals need to know?

The venerable Australian Standard filter series AS1324 has been around for over 20 years, but now IEQ professionals will need to learn a new filter classification scheme with the disappearance of the G1-G4 and F5-F9 filters from the market. The ISO16890 filter classification scheme, while more accurate and targeted, is also more intimidating and initially more complex to understand. This presentation will provide the audience with an outline of:

  • Why the filter testing standard has changed and what were the problems with the AS1324 series;
  • How the new filter classification scheme works and how to choose the right filter for the HVAC system in your client’s facility.
