Based in Paris, France, the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) is an independent intergovernmental organisation. It is the only one in the world to gather scientific and technical knowledge in every sector of refrigeration. The IIR is committed to disseminating knowledge of refrigeration to improve the quality of life for all, while respecting the environment and taking into account economic imperatives.
The Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) and The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen ties with respect to enhancing the technical standing of each organization by working co-operatively to improve refrigeration and air conditioning technologies and their application.
This formal agreement helps both Institutes in the advancing of the industry, and in the sharing of information. Members of each Institute will also benefit in shared access to technical resources, events, and education/training.
The key areas of the agreement include:

Exchange of Technical Articles between IIR’s International Journal of Refrigeration (IJR) Journal and AIRAH's magazines – Ecolibrium and HVAC&R Nation.

Joint efforts in developing international Standards and Codes of Practice.

Exchange of distinguished speakers to present at each other’s major conferences, seminars, and workshops.
