AIRAH help highlight HVAC&R on the Australian Census 2021

Help highlight HVAC&R

Make our industry known with your response to the Australian Census – August 10, 2021

The heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) industry underpins almost every aspect of modern human life. It’s time for it to be more widely recognised.

AIRAH is calling on everyone involved in HVAC&R to highlight this vital sector in their response to the 2021 Census of Australia (Tuesday, August 10).

This campaign is part of AIRAH’s celebration of World Refrigeration Day 2021.

This Census, write HVAC&R in your industry of employment

HOW IT WORKS

Recognition really does start at home. Join AIRAH’s campaign to help raise the profile of HVAC&R with the Australian government.

When you fill out the Census of Australia on August 10, under industry or business (Q46 in the paper/online form), write “HVAC&R”.

Help AIRAH highlight the HVAC&R industry

WHO SHOULD GET INVOLVED?

The HVAC&R industry is incredibly diverse and encompasses many professions. Whether you work as an engineer, tradesperson, RAC technician, marketer, business manager, salesperson, communicator, educator, or any number of related roles in the building services sector – we need your help.

Why HVAC&R matters

WHY IT MATTERS

The HVAC&R industry is notoriously a hidden one. Despite playing a major role in food transportation, vaccine storage, home heating and cooling, and even the control of pandemics – by its very nature, HVAC&R is out of sight and usually out of mind.

It’s a global lack of recognition that must be addressed. Why? Because we need to stop the skills shortage, prevent global warming, and ensure HVAC&R’s energy-efficient future through ongoing innovation.

This involves attracting top talent to HVAC&R. We can’t do that without the support and recognition of industry, government, schools, and more.

Join us on August 10 to highlight an important sector of the Australian economy and a vital part of daily human life.
