WA - WOA - Leadership and diversity in the workplace
Join AIRAH and presenter Katherine Hammack for a presentation about gender diversity in the workforce and women in leadership.
Katherine is an engineer with 35 years of experience working in the HVAC industry, electric utilities, consulting industry and for the US Army. She is also a founding member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC), and an ASHRAE member who has attained distinction and been awarded the member grade of Fellow.
Appointed by President Obama to be the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Katherine oversaw all US Army installations and energy and environmental matters worldwide. She gained international distinction for the Net Zero programs and energy efficiency work initiated in the Army.
During her illustrious career she has championed change and growth in the HVAC and wider engineering community through her roles in the formation of the “Women in Green” breakfast with the USGBC, the “Women in ASHRAE” events with ASHRAE, and is involved in starting a “Women in Energy” event with the US Department of Energy.
