Like all organisations across Australia, AIRAH is closely monitoring developments and advice regarding the coronavirus. This is changing rapidly. Gathering people together to share ideas and discuss the most important HVAC&R issues is a large part of what we do with our conference and events program. Unfortunately, as a result of COVID-19, AIRAH has had to make the decision to suspend all scheduled events up until May 31, 2020. This includes conferences, Industry Nights, seminars and face-to-face training dates.
In light of the suspension through to the end of May 2020, AIRAH is currently working on our entire program of events, training and professional development. We are, of course, cognisant of the quickly shifting landscape and will accommodate the state and federal governments’ requests in an effort to protect public health. We will let you know of our rescheduled dates/events as they become available. A full credit of any event/training registration, for use at future events/training, will be provided as necessary.

This course will assist industry in getting up-to-date with the significant changes to Section J in the NCC 2019, with an emphasis on its impact to the energy efficiency provision. Recent changes to Section J will be identified and explained, with a focus on Part J5 and JV3 (Verification Using a Reference Building). Practical examples will be worked through, including a step-by-step approach to both DTS and JV3, plus the processes involved in producing the modelling to achieve the required outcomes. Solutions to compliance difficulties within J5 will also be discussed. Other sections of the NCC have undergone significant updates. All engineers within the construction industry should review these. It is important to gain a holistic understanding of the entire NCC, such that assessment of the energy efficiency of buildings does not adversely affect the performance of other aspects of a building.
