Fundamentals: Pumps – Selection and Design (unit 8)

Module 8 in the AIRAH accredited Professional Certificate in HVAC&R Fundamentals. This online course familiarises participants with the application of air filtration for HVAC systems in buildings.

This course provides participants with the information required to assist in understanding the appropriate selection and design requirements when applying pumps in an HVAC&R system. It examines how to identify different types and characteristics of pumps. It also looks at how a pump works; the materials and components used; and the fundamental considerations for selection of pumps for the appropriate purpose.

The unit will take approximately 5–8 hours to complete, and the program is suitable for graduate mechanical engineers, technicians, maintenance personnel, and practitioners involved in the design and/or day-to-day operations of HVAC&R systems.
