Professional Certificate in HVAC&R Fundamentals

Overview

AIRAH's accredited Professional Certificate in HVAC&R Fundamentals is an opportunity to fast-track your HVAC&R technical knowledge and skills through online learning. It can also build on your existing industry experience to provide in-depth technical insight.

This program consists of eight units. Each unit offers detailed information about the workings of HVAC&R equipment.

Completion of the full Fundamentals program will take approximately 30–48 total hours, but students may design and complete their own programs across the eight available units, relevant to their own interests and needs. Individual units involve approximately 5–8 hours of activity.

Participants are required to demonstrate their competency and understanding through knowledge assessment tasks (including self-assessment questions, quizzes and calculations.)

There is a maximum of six weeks to complete each unit.

Program choices

The Professional Certificate in HVAC&R Fundamentals is designed so each unit can be undertaken separately, as preferred. Participants are able to:

  • Take individual units to upgrade specific skills.
  • Successfully finish all eight units to complete the HVAC&R Fundamentals program.
  • Complete four units comprising either the Air Systems Fundamental Certificate or the Water Systems Fundamental Certificate.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of a unit or units within this program, candidates will receive a letter of completion outlining CPD hours and unit(s) completed.

Candidates who successfully complete all eight units will also receive a program certificate.
