Mark has been with Arup’s Melbourne office since 2013, after a brief career in laser physics research with Defence Science Technology Group in Edinburgh, SA.

At Arup, he has worked on a variety of projects across multiple sectors – predominantly commercial office, aviation, rail and resorts. Recently Mark finished a secondment with the Melbourne Metro and was heavily involved with the new Town Hall Station design.

Michael’s passion is for 3D and information modelling for building services. This has led to the introduction of 3D laser scanning to the everyday engineering workflow of acquisition and verification before, during, and at the completion of engineering projects.

He initiated the move to 3D point cloud scanning in Arup’s Melbourne office in 2014. For the past six years, a wide variety of projects across virtually all disciplines have been impacted by 3D scanning and associated technologies.
