Fire Dampers Live Demonstration

On Thursday, November 26, AIRAH hosted the Fire Dampers Live Demonstration Streamline session with support from Holyoake Air Management Solutions.

About this Streamline

The session provided a live demonstration of a fire damper in action with live data transmitting duct temperature, time to close, heat stratification temperature, and volume of air until close. It covered:

  • Explanation of the demonstration and discussion about the testing standard
  • Fire damper across two dampers
  • A demonstration highlighting the difference in performance of fire dampers before the major change to AS1530.4 in 2005 and after
  • Discussion about how these performance differences impact safety
