Electrification guide to buildings

Clark will provide a summary of the work under way with the GBCA building electrification guide, due for release in February 2022. This will include updates on the key drivers for electrification, heat pumps for both space heating and domestic hot water services, and alternatives to gas for residential and retail cooking.

About Clark:
Based in Sydney, Clark is a Partner in Cundall with more than 30 years’ experience designing buildings in the UK and Australia in a wide range of sectors. He is a passionate advocate for sustainable design and sharing ideas and knowledge. Clark was principal author of the first Green Star rating tool in 2003, and for the past five years has been the Chair of the Green Star Technical Advisory Group, shaping the direction of the new Green Star tools including embedding zero carbon, circular economy, and biodiversity principles. 
In 2013 Clark wrote What Colour Is Your Building? – measuring and reducing the energy and carbon footprint of buildings. He has been instrumental in Cundall’s sustainability journey, including becoming the first consultancy to be a One Planet Company, becoming carbon neutral certified, and winning numerous awards, including the 2020 World Green Building Council Award for Sustainable Leadership in the Asia Pac region. Clark is now leading Cundall’s global Zero Carbon Design 2030 initiative, which launched on September 1, 2021.
