Innovating against the odds: Overcoming the cartel, communications, and contamination

The waste transport industry has faced criticism for its cartel-like behaviour and lack of transparency. Crown Sydney and Shrunk's collaboration to develop a bin location solution (RTLS) offered a chance to revolutionise the industry for the benefit of the industry and its customers. The primary aim of the project was to improve Crown Sydney's waste operations and diversion rate from landfill – and it worked.

Presenters Lina Le and Sheeran Erikli will discuss how frugal innovation offered enhanced efficiency, cost reduction and improved environmental sustainability to deliver substantial benefits without being a maintenance liability, complex or disruptive to facility operations.
