Analytics as an enabler of improved environmental performance in commercial buildings – a local Government perspective

Recently, the City of Sydney has demonstrated a strong commitment to support local innovation in the big data space to improve the environmental performance of buildings. This has involved running trials of various building data analytics systems. The City of Sydney now supports the installation of these systems in privately owned buildings through both its Building Tune-Up Program and Building Operations Grants.

Data from the Building Tune-Up Program’s Building Data Analytics Pilot (2019) will be presented. Importantly, the Building Tune-Up Program provides a replicable model for other government agencies to drive the uptake of building data analytics systems across their jurisdictions.
