Call for speakers

AIRAH’s Big Data and Analytics Forum will be held in Melbourne on September 14, 2023. The technical organising committee is calling for presentations on an array of subjects that link the built environment and building services. 

For some topics, co-delivery of presentations is encouraged to demonstrate where clients and providers have partnered together to solve problems and drive real value from analytics packages.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Case studies of big data applications for the built environment, including specialised building services (for example: vertical transport, security, lighting, fire, indoor environmental quality, power management)
  • The future for data-driven strategies
  • Big data and achieving carbon neutrality
  • Big data and cyber security, including data ownership
  • Improving outcomes from big data analytics

Other ideas will also be considered by the technical organising committee. The committee has the final say on accepted presentations.

Abstracts and presentations must not contain overtly commercial material or include trade names in titles.*

Presentations will be 25 minutes in length, including time for questions and answers.

All submissions must include:
  • A 300-word presentation overview submitted as a Word document
  • A 100-word condensed presentation overview submitted as a Word document
  • A 100-word biography submitted as a Word document
  • A high-resolution presenter photo

If a speaker's application is successful, they will also be required to submit a PowerPoint deck before the Big Data and Analytics Forum. More information and a template will be provided to the confirmed presenters.

 

Submissions should be emailed to AIRAH’s Engagement and Event Executive at [email protected] by Friday, March 24, 2023. 
     By submitting an abstract for this event, you are volunteering to deliver your presentation at the conference in person. Exceptions may be made if you do not reside in Australia.**

For this Forum, speakers are not required to provide a technical paper. However, if you are interested in preparing a technical paper along with your presentation, this will be distributed to Forum attendees as well as forwarded for publication consideration by AIRAH’s official journal, Ecolibrium. Submission of a paper does not guarantee publication, and all papers are subject to peer review. If you are interested in submitting a paper, please contact AIRAH’s Engagement and Program Coordinator for more information about the technical paper requirements.
