Smoke Control & Fire Dampers
Seminar Summary
This seminar is run over a day and a half and will cover the Australian
Standards – AS/NZS1668.1 and AS1682.1&2. Day 1 will look over
ASNZS1668.1 and there will be half day on the AS1682.1&2.

and essential maintenance of fire dampers and smoke dampers in use in
buildings.
Key topics
• Purpose and application of fire and smoke dampers
• Requirements to install fire and smoke dampers in multi-compartment
buildings
• Performance requirements for fire, smoke and air control dampers
• Suitability of a particular damper for a specific application
• Installation of fire and smoke dampers
• Installation parameters of dampers
• Limitations of fire and smoke damper designs and their access
requirements
• Relationship between the method of prototype testing and the
method of installation
• Standard commissioning requirements for fire and smoke dampers
• Maintenance of fire and smoke dampers
