Seminar Summary


This seminar is run over a day and a half and will cover the Australian Standards – AS/NZS1668.1 and AS1682.1&2. Day 1 will look over ASNZS1668.1 and there will be half day on the AS1682.1&2.


ASNZS1668.1 (Day 1 – 9:00am – 5:00pm)

This seminar explains the reasons why smoke control is required in buildings, the hazards generated by smoke, how it moves, occupant escape, and the principles of smoke control. The seminar outlines how AS/NZS 1668.1 applies the principles of smoke control in multi-compartment buildings.

AS1682.1&2 (Day 2 – 9:00am – 12:30pm)

This course is primarily concerned with the specification, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire and smoke dampers. This seminar provides the general and specific knowledge required for determining the proper parameters for the selection, installation, commissioning and essential maintenance of fire dampers and smoke dampers in use in buildings.
