certificate?
Graduate certificates are
generally designed for specific vocational purposes, either the broadening
of skills and knowledge already gained in an undergraduate program,
or vocational skills and knowledge in a new professional area. They
typically follow a Bachelor's Degree.
Course
Structure
To qualify
for the Graduate Certificate in Air Conditioning (Code Compliance).
Candidates must successfully complete all the following modules:
VBN997:
Apply the provisions of the Building Code of Australia and the relevant
state and territory Acts and Regulations
VBN998:
Design fire and smoke systems in multi-compartmented buildings
VBN999:
Design and manage the installation of fire and smoke control equipment
in multi-compartment buildings
VBP001:
Design and manage the installation of mechanical ventilation
VBP002:
Design and advise on the microbial control of air and water systems
of buildings

Prerequisites – AIRAH recommends that candidates
complete module VBN997 before modules VBN998, VBN999, VBP001 and VBP002.
Individual
Subjects
Candidates
may choose to study individual modules of the Graduate Certificate
in Air Conditioning (Code Compliance). Upon completion of the subject
candidates will be issued a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment
for that module.
Course
Delivery
All modules
will be available in distance education format.
Distance
education enables candidates in metropolitan and regional areas to study
the course, and provides a flexible option for busy professionals.
Completion
of the program
Candidates
must successfully complete all five modules to be eligible to receive
the qualification Graduate Certificate in Air Conditioning (Code
Compliance).
Upon completion
of the program candidates will be able to use the post nominal GCert
AC
Duration
of Course
This course
is designed to be completed in a two and a half to three year time frame.
