2008 AIRAH Excellence Awards

The Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) has been recognising excellence in the HVAC&R industry for many years.

This tradition will continue in 2008: the 2008 AIRAH excellence awards are now open for nominations.

Award Categories

There are 5 categories of AIRAH excellence awards:

Sustainability – recognises a project that embodies excellence in the sustainable design of heating, ventilation, air conditioning or refrigeration.

Refrigeration – recognises a distinguished Australian product, project, invention or innovation.

Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) – recognises a distinguished Australian product, project, invention or innovation in heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

Future leader – recognises and encourages a professional under 35 years of age who has made a significant contribution to the industry

Apprentice of the year – recognises achievements and efforts made by an apprentice in the TAFE system, who has gone beyond normal expections.

The future leader and apprentice of the year categories are open only to individuals. All other categories may recognise the achievements of an individual, company, institution, or government authority.

Winners will receive a plaque in recognition of their achievement at a national awards presentation dinner and coverage in EcoLibrium® and HVAC&R Nation magazines. There will be a result booklet published for the presentation dinner in which all winners will have a full page of coverage in.

Winners will be announced at the awards presentation and industry dinner on Thursday November 13, 2008 in Sydney.

The most distinguished award presented by AIRAH is the James Harrison Medal. The award commemorates James Harrison whose work in Australia made him one of the great world pioneers of refrigeration.
